Looking into subscribing to cable TV in order to test drive various video equipment. Became confused that apparently you have to subscribe to a large set of "channels" filled with junk (plus ads), that occasionally (not often) include copies of the actual show you want to watch. As opposed to, you know, just sending you the show you requested. Also it's expensive.
Clearly I have been away from the normal-people world for far too long.
