Re: enterprise software's "youth drain"

Here's an interesting article discussing how very few young people are getting into enterprise software nowadays. It enumerates several good reasons why this might be, and a few comparatively lame reasons why people should look into it anyhow.

I just want to add one more interesting point: baby boomers are starting to retire. What today looks like a software market locked up by highly successful old people could be greatly changed in a few years as those old people start to leave in large numbers.

(As always, what I write here are my own personal opinions, do not necessarily represent my employer, etc.)
