(Haven't found > any info on this for Linux yet) Okay, my laptop (a two-year-old AST Ascentia) does that, but it does it automatically after you've been suspended for a certain amount of time (configurable in the BIOS). This works in Linux as well as Windows. I don't think the APM BIOS specification specifically talks about hibernate mode, though I could be wrong. Anyway, Linux doesn't know a way to directly tell the system to hibernate. If you can't make your laptop do it by itself, it's not currently supported. (But if you can find documentation on how to do it, one of the kernel hackers on this list might want to help you get it implemented...) Good luck. Avery Index: [thread] [date] [subject] [author] |
