I want the power to be shutoff after a system halt. I appreciate this is a not really related to apmd or linux on laptops, but perhaps someone can help ? I am running kernel 2.0.36 and when I configure it to shut power off after a shutdown I get a kernel OOPS message just after the System Halted msg. This only occurs when the PM management is enabled in the BIOS. The BIOS is award BIOS, but I am not sure of the revision number, and I am not sure of the motherboard type. Can anyone offer any advice ? I would rather not have to upgrade to kernels 2.1/2.2 but I am happy to upgrade the apm_bios.c or any other file needed in 2.0.36. I can find out the exact BIOS and motherboard types if this is relevant.
