Does it understand apm and whether the battery is > charging or not? bdflush makes the spindown feature work much better than normal -- you should try it. But it won't let you change options depending on whether you're on wall or battery power... at least, not that I know of. apmd should run a command when you connect or disconnect the power, just like it does when you suspend or resume. Currently that's not supported, but it would be pretty easy to add. I don't have time to write it myself, but I'm accepting patches for it, as well as for a better, centralized "dispatch script" (see the list archives for details).
