I downloaded the SuSE package, and couldn't figure out how to do what I want. I looked at apmd_proxy, but I don't see how to specify: "if power off then standby instead". It seems to me that apmd_proxy script is just doing whatever cleanup might be necessary in the case of entering different modes, but not changing mode altogether. Is this correct? It seems that apm in the kernel is catching this event, and I have to modify the kernel so it doesn't allow power-off and suspends instead.
