apmd-3.0 and Accelerated X

Accelerated-X from XIG (www.xig.com) requires the use of their customized
apmd (patched from apmd-2.4), in order to shutdown the screen during an
apm-suspend while running X. I am wondering if anyone has had experience
trying out apmd-3.0 with Accelerated-X on their laptops. 

I would like to run apmd-3.0 for the features which apmd-2.4 doesnt
have.....
