kernel 2.2 vs. 2.3 with ASUS P5A

Hello,

I apologize if this is not the right place to post this
question. This is about apm support in kernel. I have a ASUS P5A
motherboard which is ACPI-compliant with ALI chips.
If I use kernel 2.2.14 (apm driver 1.9), everything (standby,
suspend and power off) about apm works fine. I have not tried to patch the
driver to 1.11.
If I use kernel 2.3.42 (apm driver 1.11), apm is not working and
the system hangs at the end of halt or reboot.

	Any suggestions?

Ming in Seattle.
