From: Richard Green <rtg@tir.com> To : <faith@cs.unc.edu> Date: Sun, 4 Oct 1998 00:01:33 -0400 (EDT) apm question.I'm running RedHat 5.1 on a Gateway solo. When I go through a suspend/resume cycle, I sometimes find that my ethernet is hung, and I find I need to reset the PCMCIA card to bring things back online. I noticed in the manpage for apmd, that the daemon notices a resume from suspend, and 'makes a feable [sic] attempt to reset the clock'. Is there by any chance a newer version out there, which allows for the calling of an external user routine at the 'pending suspend' and 'critical resume' events? This would be a great way to automate some of the suspend/resume workarounds for various hardware configurations, that I keep reading about on linux-laptop. -- Richard T.
