This is clearly a bug in the BIOS; just because a suspend event is rejected once does not mean it should always be rejected. I was able to solve the problem for the most part by *disconnecting* AC power and then reconnecting it. That seemed to reset the BIOS enough so that suspends worked again. Perhaps that will help you.
