So, that suggests that both our wishes can easily be satisfied by a single update to the default apmd_proxy script: you'll be happy to comment it out, I'll be happy that PCMCIA support is still supposed to work by default! :-) We should probably save that info about those drivers not being able to handle suspends, and hence needing an "eject" to work around current problems.
