From: The Doctor What <docwhat@gerf.org> To : <apmd-list@worldvisions.ca> Date: Thu, 17 Sep 1998 16:55:31 -0500 IDEA: /etc/apm-battery.d & /etc/apm-acpower.dJust an idea that I might work on (I'm looking into making a change in a "hdparm" aware update (aka bsdupdate): How about an /etc/apm-battery.d & /etc/apm-acpower.d? This would be for going on and off battery power, letting you do things like removing certain services and such. You could set it up so that if you're on ac power, you run Distrubted.net's rc5 client, but have it pause/quit when you're under battery power. :) Also, if we ever get tools to do really advanced things like turn off/on periphials, then we can turn them off too!
